The service

a8k.me provides a developer API for text processing using large language models. You send a task and input; the service returns an AI-generated output. By accessing or using this service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Account and API keys

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential. Do not share keys or commit them to public repositories.
  • You are responsible for all API usage that occurs under your account, regardless of who made the request.
  • If you suspect a key is compromised, delete it immediately from the dashboard and generate a new one.

Acceptable use

You may not use this service to:

  • Generate content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or violates third-party rights
  • Circumvent rate limits, quotas, or security controls
  • Resell or redistribute raw API access without our written permission
  • Probe, stress-test, or scrape the service in ways that degrade availability for other users
  • Process data you do not have the legal right to process
  • Automate abusive behaviour against third parties

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access without notice for violations of this section.

AI output disclaimer

AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You are responsible for reviewing all outputs before acting on them. Do not use this service as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or high-stakes decisions.

The service makes no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability, or fitness of any generated output for a specific purpose. You are solely responsible for evaluating and verifying outputs before relying on or sharing them. Model behaviour may change over time as underlying models are updated.

Billing and payment

  • Billing is handled by Polar Software, Inc. as Merchant of Record. Your payment contract is with Polar — they handle VAT, payment processing, and chargebacks. By subscribing, you also agree to Polar's buyer terms.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Unused quota does not carry over.
  • Free tier usage is subject to rate limits that may change with reasonable notice.
  • If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of the charge date.
  • Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee any specific uptime. The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the service itself, with reasonable notice where practical.

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the service. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your content solely to provide the service. We do not claim ownership of your inputs or outputs.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you send through the API, including content belonging to or describing third parties.

Limitation of liability

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
  • We are not liable for outcomes resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

The above limitations do not apply to liability for intent (Vorsatz), gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit), personal injury, or any liability that cannot be excluded under German law (including §309 Nr. 7 BGB).

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security risk, are associated with fraudulent activity, or where required by law. Where reasonable, we will notify you before taking action.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before taking effect. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may terminate your account before the effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Jurisdiction and venue details will be updated upon company registration.
